Another year older, not wiser

So my birthday went well. We celebrated with the in laws Saturday evening with a yummy Low County Boil. Maybe you haven't heard of this delectable meal, so let me enlighten you :-)

Only the BEST combination of seafood and potatoes and corn and sausage EVER! Seriously. The picture above has crab legs, which ours did not. Being 4.5 hours from the closest ocean, we stick to just the shrimp. But it was oh so wonderful. The in laws had never had it before, so they weren't sure what to expect, but after one bite, they were sold. They are already talking about doing it again this summer.

Here's what you need:

Large pot (turkey fryer with the perforated basket is ideal)
5 quarts of water
1- 3oz. package of crab boil
4 Tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
4 pounds red skinned potatoes
6 ears of corn - halved (I buy the frozen sweet corn, they are about 4 inches in length)
2 pounds Kielbasa sausage
2 pounds shrimp

Cut the potatoes into large chunks and add to water. Add Old Bay and crab boil and bring water to a rolling boil. Boil for 5 minutes. Add the corn and sausage, return to boil, and boil for an additional 10 minutes, or until potatoes are tender. Add the shrimp and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until shrimp are pink.

Ummm ummm! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I think I will have leftovers tonight for dinner.

Lunch is calling, I will write more later about the spiffy camera I got!
