21 weeks

Baby's now the size of a banana!
Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they've already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

How Far along:
21 weeks, 5 days!

Total weight gain:
See last week's.

Maternity clothes: Maternity shorts and capris, and regular skirts. Still in regular shirts too.

Sleep: Still good, although I'm starting to wake up earlier in the morning to pee. And sometimes I wake up at night and my right leg is completely numb.

Best Moment this week: FINALLY feeling and knowing that those "twitches" are baby.

Movement: I feel them here and there throughout the day, most notably at night when I'm in bed.

Gender: Sweet baby girl.

Labor signs: No, thank you.

Belly button: In, but getting shallow.

Cravings: Finally got my Apple Fritter, so no cravings at the moment.

What I miss: Nothing at the moment.

What I'm looking forward to: Jonathan being able to feel the kicks.

Milestones: In addition to finally knowing what I feel is baby, I saw it from the outside this past Saturday. Quite cool.

Yes, I'm late. Almost a week late. I've been busy in the evenings and this past weekend was a LOST weekend spent gearing up for the Series Finale last night. I was not disappointed and we will really miss watching the show.

Perhaps I'll try to post a belly pic tonight...
